Project’s Background
In 2015, Soufra was initiated with the generous support of Al-Fanar. A compact kitchen was outfitted to assist a group of ten women, who underwent comprehensive training under the guidance of a dedicated team from the American University. This training included meticulous supervision of food safety practices. Collaborating with the Tayeb market, the program expanded to incorporate rehabilitation courses in the culinary arts, Mouneh, and jams.

New Chapter
A pivotal turning point marked the acquisition of a new headquarters, generously provided by CUISINE SANS FRONTIERES. The kitchen was meticulously equipped to meet industry standards, accompanied by the establishment of a dedicated café for women. This safe haven within Burj Al-Barajneh camp signifies a new phase for Soufra, symbolizing its commitment to empowering and providing a secure space for women.
